Publisher / SF AirlinesDate / 2020-06-11

On the morning of June 11, 2020, a fully-loaded B757-200 freighter operated by SF Airlines smoothly arrived at Beijing Daxing International Airport from Hangzhou, marking the first all-cargo flight received by Daxing Airport since its official opening on September 25, 2019. With this historic landing, SF Airlines became the first Chinese cargo carrier to operate at Daxing Airport, ushering in a new "Xing" era of dual-airport operations in the capital alongside Beijing Capital International Airport.

New Hub, Stronger Network

As China's crucial logistics hub and a strategic city in SF's service network, Beijing has been served by SF Airlines since 2011 when the carrier first launched dedicated freighter operations for express shipments. The 2015 establishment of SF's self-operated aviation base at Beijing Capital Airport, integrated with SF's North China sorting center, significantly enhanced cargo handling capabilities and delivery efficiency.

With 68 domestic and international destinations, SF Airlines has developed an extensive network "covering China, reaching across Asia and extending to Europe". Key Beijing routes like "Beijing=Shenzhen", "Beijing=Guangzhou", "Beijing=Hangzhou" and "Beijing=Incheon" effectively connect the carrier's three major hubs, generating increasing scale effects.

Positioned as an international aviation hub and strategic engine for the Xiongan New Area, Daxing Airport represents both a new global cargo gateway and a critical node for building secure international supply chains. SF Airlines' pioneering operation at Daxing marks a breakthrough in strengthening Beijing's hub function while creating fresh momentum for serving the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region's air logistics development. Future operations will optimize resource allocation between both Beijing airports based on market demand and Daxing's cargo development plans.

Enhanced Services, Accelerated Development

Since its 2009 launch, SF Airlines has specialized in secure, efficient express air transport. Recent fleet expansion has enabled customized solutions through collaboration with SF's global supply chain, pharmaceutical, cold chain and specialty economy divisions, supporting fresh produce e-commerce and cross-border trade while facilitating Chinese brands' global expansion.

When COVID-19 disrupted global supply chains, SF Airlines mobilized its freighter fleet to establish the first air bridge for Wuhan relief supplies and later international aid missions, demonstrating strong social responsibility. The new "Hangzhou=Beijing (Daxing)" route enhances domestic network connectivity and post-pandemic recovery support.

Currently in peak "fruit season" operations, SF Airlines has been transporting premium produce like Hainan lychees and Shandong cherries to major consumption regions. The inaugural Daxing flight carried fresh Zhejiang bayberries, with subsequent "bayberry charters" leveraging Daxing's multimodal connections and SF's ground cold chain network to boost local fresh e-commerce.

New Cargo Frontier, Promising Future

As the "arteries" of economic development, cargo networks require robust "heart-like" hubs. Daxing Airport will emerge as both a new engine for regional air cargo growth and a global logistics gateway. SF Airlines' entry initiates a new chapter in serving regional logistics development and national supply chain construction.

With its fleet soon exceeding 60 aircraft and global destinations surpassing 70, SF Airlines will significantly elevate operational capabilities through Daxing operations. Committed to "aviation-focused, logistics-win-win" development, the carrier will continue expanding routes and capacity to support Daxing's transformation into an international cargo hub, while collaborating to attract high-end industries to the airport economic zone and advance China's Belt and Road logistics infrastructure.
