Emergency Aid! SF Airlines Launches "Wuxi=Lanzhou" Route to Ensure Transport of Earthquake Relief Supplies

At approximately 18:00 on December 19, 2023, after nearly six hours of urgent preparation, SF Airlines launched a dedicated "Wuxi=Lanzhou" cargo route using a B757 freighter. The aircraft swiftly transported nearly 20 tons of relief supplies—including tents, folding beds, cotton-padded quilts, and raincoats—to Gansu Province, providing critical logistics support for earthquake rescue operations in Jishishan County, Linxia Prefecture.

At 23:59 on December 18, a magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck Jishishan County, prompting Gansu Province to activate a Level II emergency response. Treating the disaster as an immediate call to action, SF Airlines initiated a special support mechanism upon receiving the relief transport request around noon on December 19. With backing from the CAAC’s Major Task Office, the company rapidly developed an air transport plan and mobilized resources. Personnel and equipment were prioritized for loading/unloading relief goods, while operational nodes were accelerated to expedite the route’s launch—all aimed at delivering aid faster to the quake zone.

Currently, SF Airlines’ independently operated fleet of 86 all-cargo freighters—including B747, B767, B757, and B737 models—is distributed across over 40 Chinese cities. Capable of serving long-, medium-, and short-haul routes, the fleet stands ready to rapidly respond to nationwide relief transport demands.
